I was working at a company called cmc, which did some advertising and web development for a little bit. i had this idea that maybe one day something like this might be an attractive thing to offer, but the biggest challenge was to find the right business people. they couldn’t make it at our level–there were no good ones from the outside. we didn’t want to deal with any other company with no marketing, no product development or marketing. that’s how we got into the business. so we went in the middle of the night, and we had a meeting with a bunch of young women in a bar, and we said, “why are you talking about this? this is great.” and they immediately said, “well, you know, this is a good thing. you know, we need this. we need it. we need to do it, that we can do it. so let’s do it.” and that’s how we did it. i think that’s probably why i think of it as the beginning of a new kind of business. in a lot of ways, we’ve changed the way we think of this industry. and i think that’s what the new business model is trying to do in the past. i think that’s why it’s so important to change your business. this is what we’re trying to do every day. but i think it’s also what our new vision has been designe…
